Monique's Newsletter was launched more than a year ago with great success, but now it´s time for something new again. A brand new Monique HOMEPAGE is currently being built and Monique is looking forward to sharing it with the world ;-) We are not entirely sure when it will be ready, but we hope it will see the light of day around 1st of April, and that’s why the newsletter is taking a break and will return in a different format.

We can already reveal that she is currently working on her new album ;-)

The cold has really taken its turn on our small country, and whilst many of us are privileged enough to have a nice warm bed, warm clothes and a shelter, there are currently 10-15,000 homeless people in Denmark who are having a really hard time, some of them have died due to the cold.

Friday 22th January an aid concert was organised and the purpose was to raise money, collect clothes for the homeless, get through to the politicians and create awareness about this growing problem.

Monique had chosen to help and performed together with a number of other artists on the Copenhagen Town Square from 6-8 pm., and although it was freezing, the hearts of the people were warm. The campaign continues, and if you would like to make a donation, or help in other ways to support the homeless, maybe even adopt one ;-) please click here.

16th February, of course ! ;-)

And the winner of the competition won a stunning bronze cork made by the artist Lo Maluue Lynghøj and Trine, who won, was very happy!

Monique loves birthdays and parties, so the party will be started on the day, the day before, the day after and….like weddings in fairytales ;-) Let's party !!

A matter close to Monique’s heart is the Danish Heart Foundation which is promoting the campaign “Love The Heart” at yet another event. It takes place at the beautiful St. Petri Hotel in the center of Copenhagen where Crown Princess Mary, as the protector of the Foundation, will present grants to scientists researching cardiovascular diseases.

Monique has been asked to perform her beautiful heart song for the guests, and is of course delighted to do so. Amazing singer Lars H.U.G will also be performing.

"When I need you", the good old Leo Sawyer song interpreted by Monique, a duet with Mr. Bobo Moreno called "You´ve got a friend"- there are clips from the TV2 show “The Lift” ( Eleva2ren) ;-)

You can see and hear Monique singing  "Guilty" and "As long as we´re together", then there is the original version of "Cruella de Ville". The title song from her latest album "Believer" and Leonard Cohen´s "Hallelujah" both on the same CD and much more, it´s pure wonderland ;-)

I've always by nature been a super curious child and must admit I still am ;-) In many ways that's both good and bad ;-) Good because the world is being explored, you learn something more, are more open, etc. etc., but you can also get hurt if you are a little too brave, throw yourself into something not quite as it should be, if not outright dangerous ;-)! But I HAVE to do it ..... and now I have thrown myself into bungy jumping and parachuting.. no that´s just a joke, it’s not that dangerous. I have thrown myself into fighting the evil : the sun damages on my face ;-)

When I was younger there was little awareness about the ozone layer, the lack of it, harmful rays etc. I was a child of nature, constantly outside and often closer to the equator, and as a teenager often to be found in a sunbed. Today many years later, I’m paying the price.

Prevention is always preferable, but if the damage is done, then don’t worry, help is here.

If you have facial sun damages like me, it can be removed in different ways. You can have it frozen, which didn’t work for me, or you can get laser in different ways, this I have thrown myself into.

Clinic "N'age", which stands for No Age, it´s located on Kgs Nytorv in Copenhagen and is owned by the lovely Ida Halberg. I’m going to her clinic once a month for 3 months and then hopefully there'll be no sun damages left on my face – yeahhhh !
